Our Story
The Lasting Thread began with a simple idea: what if a wedding dress could become something beautiful for a family during one of the hardest moments of their lives?
As a pediatric nurse, I’ve seen firsthand the heartbreak families experience after the loss of a child. I wanted to create a way to offer a small amount of comfort, dignity, and something meaningful during that unimaginable time.
With donated wedding gowns, the help of generous volunteers, and a community coming together, The Lasting Thread transforms these once-loved dresses into beautiful bereavement gowns, quilts, and blankets for families who need them. Every gown carries a little piece of love forward—because where love lives on, memories do too.
